“They say that she sees everything, she sees what her cats see, and that she has eyes everywhere, in every corner of this building. Someone once told me those charms she wears around her body help guide her through the spirit world. . .” -Andre Berkshire

An Egyptian woman quietly contemplating.

She can hear the superstitious boy outside her door, she then smiles to herself at the thought of giving him something to actually be scared of.

Biset resides on the Third Floor: Room C4.

The Vignettes

One card at the table is laid after another. The woman with her long face known as Biset wore a black, yellow and white scarf wrapped around her head. Round gold earrings hang from her ears dangling freely. The rays that cast on the walls from the sun provide play for her four legged friends while she lays card after card. The next card to be turned over from the deck is a surprise. “Oh Dear....” She holds the card of death to her face, meditating on its gaze. “Meow!” One of her friends jumps onto the table giving her a freight.

She screams as she falls back in her chair.

Mrs. Berkshire outside her room stops scrubbing the floor for a moment but continues her business as if nothing had occurred.

Biset has lost her favorite six toed cat Maurice. It was a gift from the Association of Feline Fare.

For hours into days the tenants have warily watched her turn the apartment upside down, going as far as to beg some of them to let her in their apartment.

She soon finds a few missing floorboards out of place and is terrified Maurice had escaped not merely into a hole, but a passageway leading down into the Paris Underworld. Her face turned shades of pale blue at terrible memories of old rumors involving animals being sacrificed by a strange cult that has been said to have lived down in the Underworld.

Isis having no one else to turn to pleads with the super Garelli DeMarciano to help her, by going into the Paris Underworld to help her find her beloved Maurice.
