The Vignettes

Perhaps it was an unsettling dream, or an unexpected sound thar awakened Monsieur Dechant from his sleep. He tumbled through the dark unable to remember where he put the lamp. “Screaming was it. . .? Yes, what fool screams for no reason in the middle of the night...?!” With a solid thud he could have saw stars as he fell on his back, his nose meeting the bow of his boat. Edouard rolled on the floor seeing his creation mocking him in the faint shadows of street lights. “I'll sink you yet...”
