“Always resting is Monsieur Guenier, I have to wonder though if he plays up his age and is mostly pretending. Whether it be for a free drink, or warm meal. I mean to get on his daughters good side by being kind never hurt. Heaven forbid though if one should offer him the pipe!” -Lucus Roux
Monsieur Guenier resides on the First Floor: Room: A1.
The Vignettes
Monsieur Guenier creeps behind the Lobby counter, much to the curiosity of Gavin. The elder brought his crooked finger over his lips as he had seen Gavin looking onward. Standing idle with his stare from the washroom, he narrowed his bushy eyebrows, biting into his cigar.
A couple of menacing individuals entered the lobby, pacing harshly through, no doubt looking for a certain individual who had no doubt upset the pair. The few tenants that were present, watched on wearily at the two sharks that circled the room.
Gavin strolled out of the washroom behind the counter, his hand reaching down for a special club, for special troubles. Little did they know, Monsieur Guenier the elder was surrounded by nefarious friends, who kept their best interest in mind, that interest being Monsieur Guenier's safety. He was Henrietta's Father, and Henrietta was in fact the Landlady, someone who would not take kindly to her father being roughed up in front of tenants that depended on her good graces.
Sharks are sharks indeed, but to every hook, harpoon and net of the sea, certainly no different than any other fish. A quiet stillness took to the air, every eye watching the two strangers in unfamiliar waters.
"He must have given us the slip, maybe the next building over. Hard to tell at that distance."
A large crash alarmed the two, as it was just outside the building. Assuredly they looked to one another and bolted out of the lobby and back onto the street. Monsieur Guenier's peered up from behind the counter for a moment, then felt a large hand palm his balding head.
"Don't borrow what ya can't pay!"
Gavin yelled to the old man as he gave a cry of surprise from the bellowing voice.
